FLAMINGO, Fla. – With the change of the season, Flamingo Everglades adds more outdoor recreational activities for the public.

These recreational activities include

  • Houseboat Rentals
  • Daily Boat Tours
  • Fully-stocked Marina Store with food court
  • Newly-opened campgrounds and RV sites
  • Pontoon Boat, Kayak, Canoe, and Bike Rentals
  • Eco-Tent Rentals
  • and coming soon … cabin rentals and a 65 seat full-service restaurant

The Flamingo Everglades’ daily narrated boat tours are back for those who love to sight-see on the water. This one-of-a-kind wilderness experience on a single or double-decker tour boat is the perfect opportunity to get up close with the magnificent manatees, crocodiles, birds, and other wildlife found throughout the marina. There are also backcountry boat tours every Friday-Sunday at 1 pm and 3 pm to give a more in-depth look into nature.

“The guided boat tours allow guests to learn more about the great wonders found in the Florida Bay while seeing it in-person,” says Ken Kroll, general manager at Flamingo Everglades. “It is a fun activity for the whole family to enjoy.”

Houseboats are now available for rent. The 42-foot houseboats sleep a maximum of six people with all the necessities and modern amenities. On board, these houseboats have two staterooms, gas oven/range, and gas-electric refrigerator with a freezer, microwave, and more. Eight-passenger fishing pontoons, single and double kayaks, canoes, and bikes are also available to rent. Bikes are available for a minimum of two hours, and there are a variety of bike-friendly trails to explore.

“Riding on a boat, kayak, canoe, or bike with friends and family in the Everglades gives a whole new perspective of the environment,” says Kroll. “The beautiful landscape and exotic wildlife offer a scenic route that helps guests disconnect from the busyness of life.”

The Flamingo Everglades also has two on-site campgrounds that are now open for the season. These sites accommodate tents and RVs; however, “Now with the eco-tents, everyone and anyone can join in on the fun.”  Facts: The Eco-Tents are 186 square feet, with two double beds or a queen, two nightstands, bedside lighting, Chester drawer and sitting area.

“There is no better way to experience the Everglades than spending a night under the stars at one of its many campsites,” says Kroll. “Now with the available eco-tents and cabins, everyone and anyone can join in on the fun.”

After a day of boating, biking, and camping, the Marina Store is open from 8 am to 5 pm for all food and beverage needs.

“Being the fully stocked store on the property,” says Kroll, “we have a variety of foods to satisfy anyone’s cravings and any other supplies you may need to enhance your stay.”

Flamingo Everglades is ready for guests to enjoy the updated outdoor recreation amenities in the upcoming season.

“We love our customers and want them to enjoy our beautiful campgrounds, phenomenal views, and excellent water activities in the best ways possible.”
