New Butterfly Aviary at Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures

Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures, a leading Central Florida nature-based attraction, has added a brand new Butterfly Aviary – open all year – to its Real Natural Florida experiences. Lily’s Butterfly Garden and Lorelei’s Critter Collection, a 20 by 60 foot specially designed aviary named after the owner’s granddaughters, features more than 17 different species of butterflies that are native to Florida including Monarch, Painted Ladies and Sulphurs.

Guests can purchase nectar cups for $2 each to feed the butterflies inside the aviary. The butterfly habitat contains an assortment of Florida native plants such as Native Milkweeds, Buttonwood Plant, Fire Bushes, Swamp Lily, Muhly Grass, Prickly Pear Cactus and Swamp Hibiscus. The same habitat is also home to native Florida animals such as Bobwhite Quails, Wood Ducks and Turtles.

The landscaping of the park and butterfly area at Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures has been done through a partnership with the Florida Native Plant Society. Future plans inside Lily’s Butterfly Garden will include high teas, birthdays, wedding ceremonies for up to 20 people and memorial butterfly releases. Admission to the Butterfly Aviary is free with the purchase of your airboat tour or your food order at our restaurant.
