Reef Relief Environmental Center

Reef Relief is a nonprofit organization working to protect coral reefs and marine life throughout the Florida Keys and beyond. For decades, the group has focused on three simple goals: educating people about the ocean, advocating for cleaner and healthier waters, and bringing the community together to make a difference. You can see this mission in action through programs like Coral Camp, a hands-on summer experience for kids, and the Discover Coral Reefs School Program, which brings marine science straight into classrooms. While you’re in Key West, stop by the Reef Relief Environmental Center at 631 Greene Street in the Historic Seaport, right next to the Conch Republic Seafood Company. Admission is free, and the center welcomes visitors Monday through Friday from 10am to 4pm. Inside, you’ll find engaging exhibits that make the coral reef come to life, including dioramas comparing a healthy reef with a damaged one, live underwater webcam streams from around the world, and the film “Waters of Wonder.” It’s a fun, family-friendly way to understand what makes these reefs so special and why they need our help.
