Fort Lauderdale is located in south east Florida and features 23 miles of beaches. The most popular beaches in Fort Lauderdale include Hollywood, Dania Beach, Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea and Fort Lauderdale. Fort Lauderdale is known for its beautiful sand and outdoor concerts. You can dive, play beach volleyball, fly a kite, or just stretch out on lounge chairs and enjoy the Atlantic Ocean breeze in your hair. The beaches in Fort Lauderdale have several shore diving locations where certified divers can access incredible sea life right from the beach. Pompano beach features great fishing. Fort Lauderdale is a popular, urban beach destination with a wide promenade for bikers, joggers, and skateboarders and home to artisan restaurants and hot nightlife. The area is home to 69 miles of live coral reef and 18 major shipwrecks to explore right from the beach.
